John Stea has distinguished himself as a physician songwriter; and specializes in crafting melodies, meaningful lyrics, and ideas. He has written many songs, including the powerful tribute to Gold Star families, entitled "Light of a Gold Star," recorded by the US Army: and the moving Clara Bow tribute ballad, "Runnin' Wild.' Dr. Stea has been named as a writer for Resnik Music Group, a leading music publisher in song placements for movies and television. Originally from Connecticut, he has worked in Nashville with established songwriters including Grammy nominee Mary Ann Kennedy, Lucia Nazzaro, Erik Halbig, Don Goodman, Rich Alves (Pirates of the Mississippi), Megan Conner, John Behrens, and Jon Conley.
With a strong background in Environmental Health, Dr. Stea has co-penned the acclaimed Climate Change anthem 'Shattered Garden.' Dr. Stea is also a tireless champion of animal rights and is an active member of the Physicians' Committee for Responsible Medicine; an organization that advocates the ethical treatment of animals in the medical sciences. In addition to writing, he is a board-certified, practicing physician and has worked as a Flight Surgeon, Psychiatrist, and Preventive Medicine Specialist. Dr. Stea has served with distinction in the US Military; including working under two Air Force Surgeon Generals, and has received the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal for his work in Preventive Medicine and Public Health.
